4-(4-Bromophenyl)-4-(dimethylamino)-1-(2-phenylethyl)cyclohexanol (BDPC, Bromadol) is a potent narcotic analgesicwith a distinctive chemical structure. It was developed by Daniel Lednicer at Upjohn in the 1970s. Initialstudies showed that it was around 10,000 times the strength of morphine in animal models although later studiesassigned a value of x504 morphine for the trans (the more active) isomer.
Opioid pharmacologyBDPC has never been used in humans, but would be expected to produce effects similar to those of other potentopioid agonists, including strong analgesia, sedation, euphoria, constipation, itching and respiratory depressionwhich could be harmful or fatal. Tolerance and dependence would be expected to develop rapidly based on the potencyof the drug, as it is of a similar strength to sufentanil and so would most likely cause pronounced tachyphylaxisfollowing repeated dosing, as is seen with the potent fentanyl analogues.
Structure-activity relationships
Several related analogues such as the p-methyl and ring-unsubstituted compounds have also been investigated.
Bromadol is the lead compound in this series that attracted so much interest in it initially. A large number of
analogs have been prepared, and the SAR is very well established. Lednicer constructed Dreiding models to
show that the model of bromadol will give an exact overlay on a model of fentanyl.
NMDA receptor connection
For example, a positional isomer of ketamine is an idea that has been pursued. 2-Hydroxy-PCP and 2-
methoxyphencyclidine were both recently reported. The 4-positional isomers would seem like a logical extension
of this work. However, it is more common for the 4-keto group to be kept in the form of its corresponding ethylene
ketal.
Chemistry

BromadolBromadol is a novel research opioid with a structure dissimilar to any other commercial opioid in existence. It isthe quintessential “research chemical” in that it has no analogues, obeys no laws, and has so far escaped much ifany attention.Bromadol is mentioned on a few forums in the research chemical forum-sphere. For the few who have managed toconduct research on it say that it causes an awesome opiate high complete with nodding and all-out euphoria with
effects lasting 3-6 hours. I know readers will want a lot of details about Bromadol but there just is not enough
out there yet. Especially for opioids, the effects can be subjective and have a lot of subtlety – but I think we
can say for sure that this is a solid opioid.
There are currently two vendors openly selling it, but I highly doubt their legitimacy for a couple of reasons. Of
which the first being that it is sold in its pure Form. I have not seen a research chemical company worth its URL
length in U.S. dollars sell a research opioid in its pure Form. Unless you are a skilled research chemist, handling
it in its pure form is an easy way to get dead. Another reason is the visible quality of the websites in question.
They just do not seem legitimate.
This chemical has eluded me thus far. If I am able to track it down I will be sure to Ooops access for all the
research chemists who need access to it for use in their research labs. If you are somehow able to acquire it in
its pure form, I would strongly suggest that you do not attempt to research it. This chemical is reported to be
around 10000x more potent then morphine. Stay smart when researching opioids.
